Privacy Policy

SwitchTank ("we", "us") operates the SwitchTank marketplace and Aquagram community, available as a mobile app and at this website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who to contact

SwitchTank is the service operator and data controller for information handled through the service. For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact us through the app or website's Help & Support section.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, optional handle, email address, and authentication information. If you sign in with Google, Google provides your name, email address, and profile photo according to your Google account settings.
• Content you create — listings, posts, stories, comments, messages, photos and videos you upload, and profile details such as your bio, website, and profile photo.
• Location information — the location you attach to a listing and, only when you grant permission in the mobile app, device location used to help show nearby items. You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings.
• Device and technical information — IP address, browser or device type, operating-system information, app version, diagnostic information, and logs needed to secure and operate the service.
• Notification information — a device push-notification token while notifications are enabled. Logging out removes the token used for that signed-in account.
• Local storage and cookies — session cookies and similar browser storage used for authentication, security, preferences, and keeping the website working.

How we use it

• To operate the marketplace and community: showing your listings and posts, delivering messages, and sending notifications about activity on your account.
• To keep the community safe: reviewing reported content, and preventing spam and abuse.
• To authenticate users, store content, send push notifications, and provide maps and related functionality through Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, Google Maps, and other Google services described below.
• To show advertising in the mobile app through Google AdMob if advertising is enabled. AdMob may use device identifiers and similar information as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Advertising and consent settings may vary by location and device.
• To prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our rules.

Service providers

We use third-party providers to operate features of SwitchTank. Google Firebase provides Authentication, Firestore database storage, Cloud Storage, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. Google Sign-In may provide account information when you choose that login method. Google Maps may process map or location requests. Google AdMob may process advertising information when ads are enabled. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not process payments — transactions are arranged directly between buyers and sellers.

Data storage

Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging). Content you post publicly (listings, posts, stories, profile) is visible to other users; stories are designed to expire automatically after 24 hours.

We keep information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, enforce our rules, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete the account profile and associated account records that we control. A comment may remain visible in an existing post with its stored display name, but it will no longer link to an active profile and will be identified as an inactive account. Information may remain temporarily in secure backups before those backups are replaced in the ordinary course.

Your choices

• You can review and update account information, profile information, listings, posts, and comments through the available features.
• You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
• You can request account deletion from the app's settings or website profile page. Account deletion removes your profile and account records as described above.
• You may contact us through Help & Support to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification.

Children

SwitchTank is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through Help & Support so we can investigate and take appropriate action. If local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies.

International processing

SwitchTank and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the date above. Questions, privacy requests, and complaints can be submitted through the app or website's Help & Support section.
